SYNOPSIS

Marisa and her husband Carlo are having dinner with Elena, their son's girlfriend. Initially enthusiastic, Marisa begins to notice, through Carlo’s jokes and similar remarks from her son, a form of subtle yet pervasive control she had always overlooked.

These behaviors, now perceived as economic abuse, make her realize that Elena is aware of this dynamic.

The dinner becomes a moment of revelation for Marisa, who finds in Elena a symbol of resistance, pushing her to become aware of her own oppression.

Notes

    After producing three short films in the first half of 2024, OffiCine-IED announces the start of filming for a new project, made possible by the valuable collaboration with Sammontana and dedicated to an important topic: economic abuse. This highly relevant yet underrepresented issue will be featured in the short films "Viola" and "Echo" (in two episodes), which will be presented on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

OffiCine, born now 12 years ago, grasps from IED the teaching style based on “know how” and is managed by Labà-Special Projects.
