About Me
Marta Capossela
is a screenwriter and director. She teaches Russian language at the University of Salerno and in 2024 she obtained a PhD in Slavistics with an unprecedented thesis on the screenwriting work of the formalist Viktor Shklovsky.
She is a literary translator (from Russian into Italian) and studied film at the Baltic Film, Media, and Arts School in Tallinn (Estonia).
She lived and worked abroad for several years (St. Petersburg, Siberia, Tbilisi, Tallinn and Switzerland).
She co-wrote the short films Ronzio (2024) and Piccoli Passi (2024).
She was selected for the screenplay development residencies at Sentiero Film Lab Extended 2023 and Officine IED Film Lab 2024, under the artistic direction of Silvio Soldini.
In November 2024, she participated in the international feature film and TV series script development lab HerArts Film Lab Paestum, winning the only grant awarded by the Campania Film Commission.
Her debut short film, "Misure" (2024), currently in festival distribution, is the first chapter of her trilogy focused on the female body. She is actively developing the next two films of the trilogy: the short film "Through the Clouded Glass" and her first feature film "Fame".
She is a member of the association Women in Film, Television, and Media Italia.
